Cruising Hawaii on a sailboat ???

We are new to sailing in the Pacific and we are planning on heading to Hawaii. The question we have, are the conditions for sailing around the Hawaiian Islands good year round, or just certain months? Is the weather a problem to hang out year round? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cruising Hawaii on a sailboat ???

Sailing is year round in Hawaii. Summer is the best sailing for all parts of the islands but in winter months some of the best places are closed out due to north surf, i. e. Hanalei on Kauai or Hana on Maui. That doesn't mean there is nowhere to go in winter because the major ports on all islands are still open since the majority of them are on the leeward coasts.
Let me know if you have more specific questions.

kind regards,
