Crealock Excaliber 26

Anyone know anything about this model? There is one for sale a couple of hundred miles away for 3k.
Ad says the numbers come back to no known manufacturer. BT6 27000 1178M He said he has reason to believe it was built by Birchminster, but the title says Crealock.
He has it listed as a 27 footer, but the picture of the Excaliber 26 looks like it.
Any idea on the quality of these boats and how they sailed. What I found so far says they sailed very well.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

If this ( http://sailboatdata.com/VIEWRECORD.ASP?CLASS_ID=474 ) looks like the boat you saw then I can tell you about the boat.

The yacht club at the Univ. of Wash had one for almost 30yr. It was used really hard and stood up well. The only major problem I was aware of was the beam across the cabin top supporting the mast.

The first fix was to cut open the cabin top in way of the mast and replace the rotted wood. About 10yr later we welded up an aluminum 'beam'/cantraption/ugly abomination that supported the mast.

The times I was involved with the yearly haulout we only occasionally had to deal with minor blisters.

The boat sailed well and was durable.

That is one of the comparison pictures I had found. This is the boat, if they don't object to me posting the ad.

27' sailboat with trailer, 15hp outboard
