So.... it seems me being a cleva buga I got a thread closed down by answering in a furrin lingo...

Anyway... the guy has a problem and for some reason needs help with documentation...
COLUMBIA NEED INFORMATION 41'KETCH.
I bought it in 2012 while the ship was built in 1977 in USA.

Was imported to Spain in 1978 and I am the fourth owner.

The boat has no original documentation.

Need all kinds of information may help me to maintain.

The only thing I found is: Columbia Yacht Owners Association

Amigo why do you need the documents... 1978 was still Franco... no IVA... the 3 owners before you should be history enough to satisfy any authorities... lets face it... according to you the boat has been Spanish for nearly 40years..

From the Spanish side (that I guess we're not allowed to see) I think he wanted documentation as in owner's manual, sail plan, yada yada. Anything that would help in getting to know and maintain the boat.

Something doesn't make sense.
In 1977 Columbia Yachts (USA) was making only Alan Payne designs (I had a 8.7). The largest boat they ever built from that era was 35'. Just before they went belly up around 1979 they built a 39' Payne, but IIRC they never made a ketch. Hughes (Canada) bought the Columbia name and molds and produced the boats for a few years. From the Columbia Owners page it appears Hughes made the 39' as a 40' Ketch in 1981, so I suspect that is the model in question. Hughes went out of business around the same time so there is probably not a lot of info on that model. The OP may own the only one ever made. The best documentation is probably from the original Columbia 11.8, which I suspect is the same design.

I own a C-41 in Washington DC. The C-41 was offered with an optional ketch rig. My boat is sloop rigged.

That C-41 is most likely the boat in question. I didn't think they built those models (there was also a 45) after Columbia moved their manufacturing from SoCAL to VA in the mid-70s, but I guess they could have taken the molds to VA and popped one out if they got an order.
At least now the owner has a place to look for whatever documentation he needs.

My C-41 was built in Norfolk in 1974. I had a survey done when I bought the boat and used the survey as a to-do list. It took me about 2 years to work through even though the boat had spent most of its life on the hardstand. If you need advice drop me a PM.

I believe the Columbia 41 was a raised salon. I believe they made about 85 or 86 of them.

Yes. That is true. I have 6'-5" of head room. Below is the enclosed engine compartment, 100 gal. water tank, 100 gal. diesel tank and three large compartments for stores. It has a full walk through galley with propane stove and opposite that a walk thrrough head. The aft cabin in a full 8 feet long. That is, it is long enough for me to hang a hammock in the summer. The forward cabin has a V berth. On the whole, it is very cumfortable. The only down side is the boat has high freeboard and a definate motor-sailor appearance. Oh yes, a C-41 can be found from $25k to $45k.
