Closed on Boat One Day Before Hurricane

Only an idiot would close on a boat one day before a hurricane is expected hit...

We just finalized the purchase of our "Next" boat, a 1985 Wauquiez Pertorien. She is currently on the hard in Charleston, SC, so hopefully safe. The plan is to truck her up to Oriental, and get her ready for the sea. There are several things that need addressed, so I am sure we will be asking for advice here at CF in the weeks to come!!!

Chris

PS - anyone interested in a very loved Westerly Fulmar, let me know!

I am sure that your yard knows this, but strip all canvas and double the jackstands to survive a hurricane. Make sure each jackstand has a solid base. You may have to put a half sheet of marine plywood under each stand so it wont sink in the rain.
