Are there any members who own CM 440's. I'm looking for information on relocating the house battery bank to help balance the hull. My boat lists to starboard which seems typical. Considering moving bank to underneath aft cabin and changing the battery type to pure lead thin plate technology so smaller battery size can be uses to reduce space requirements.

I replaced my batts with "Lifeline" 3,4D, AGM Batts (best you can buy) and relocated under the aft bunk. They require NO maintenance so once you put them back there, forget them. Works great. Should improve your listing problem,

I've read a few other posts talking about this change, but no one discusses any challenges regarding re-routing cables. Anything to be aware of before I start

I had the yard do it. What they did was to just leave all the existing cables in place,in the galley floor, and run a new cable (+ & -) from the new location to the old series. Basicly just extending the current setup to the "under the bunk" location. They also "glassed in" battery boxes, under the bunk, for stability. Solid as a rock!.
