Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts

Can anyone tell me anything about the hull and deck construction of the Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts in the 80's ?
In particular I want to know if the hull was cored throughout or just to waterline, and if there were any hull and deck issues.
Any other info on this yacht would also be appreciated.
Thanks. Martin

Re: Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts

I can help. best contact would be the designer Alan Warwick of Warwick Yacht Design in Auckland NZ. The construction is as follows; Garboards 26mm solid GRP, topsides 8mm solid GRP, deck 8mm solid GRP , cabin sides and top 6mm balsa core ( I believe) The hull deck is joined by a solid flange through which is bolted an alloy toerail. Spindrift was launched in February 1997. I have had no hull or deck issues. The yacht is an excellent cruising and ocean going yacht with a very easy motion. She sails well to windward and generally performs well at all points of sail. trust this helps. John/ Spindrift.

S/Y Spendrift has pretty well covered all the bases and I can’t add anything to the building specs he’s already provided. But I can say that my Warwick Cardinal is one of the best boats I’ve ever sailed, either in the Mediterranean or in S.E. Asia. Spirit is the center cockpit version and can be easily sailed solo. Here are some images of the layout below decks:

Spirit, home

It took me 20 years to find her but the search was well worth the final reward.

If you still need some info, I have a Cardinal 46. Bought it in Martinique, it's now in the Med.

Re: Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts

I have a Cardinal 46 1983 (before Tania) "Sirena" we have own her for 25 yrs. and it is a fantastic sailboat. We are currently cruising in Mexico and have enjoyed her seaworthiness and sea kindness. This sailboat has won many southern California races including twice first in class in the Newport to Ensenada, Mexico regatta.
We love our boat and hope to cruse her for many years to come.

Re: Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts

Hi John,
Scarlet is hauled out for the summer in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza while we enjoy summer in Maine. This fall I think we'll do local cruising maybe ending up for the winter in Menorca.
How are you liking Malta?
Cheers,
Spencer

After many years of sailing pleasure, I'm putting my Warwick Cardinal 46 up for sale. You can find her in the classifieds and if you have any questions concerning her, please feel free to PM me.
Best regards,
CruisingSpirit

Re: Cardinal 46 built by Tania Yachts

i have My Cardinal 46 "Harmony" berthed in Palma Mallorca and offer short term berthing to any other Cardinal 46 as I have an alternative.
I also gave a CD supplied by the very helpful staff at Tiana with all the line drawings and construction details. It should be possible for me to copy it and send it to any other owner, but you will need to help or instruct me.
I have had Harmony for ten years but just decided to list her as I am now on my own and find it hard going. Easy to sail but not maintain.

Hello. I am pleased to meet the owner of the beautiful Warwick 46 yacht online.
I just bought a yacht, I like it very much. Unfortunately, there are very few messages about this yacht in the network. You write that you have more inrormations about the yacht and even drawings. You write that you can share it, if so I will be very grateful. My e-mail is witoldwoznial520915@gmail.com
Thank you for your help.
Regards, Witold

Hello CaptPen.
I was very happy to read that you have documentation and drawings from Warwick 46 from Tania Yacht. I bought Warwick 46 and I am completely refurbished. Any documentation, especially electrical installations, would help me a lot. I wrote to Tania Yacht, but wrote back that they no longer have one. If you can provide me with documentation from Warwick 46, I will be very grateful and willing to get back to you. My mail: witoldwoznial520915@gmail.com or witold.wozniak@vp.pl. Regards, Witold Wozniak.
