Cal 29 Owner - Need a Hand

could anybody tell me the exact distance between the cockpit benches. i am planning on setting some teak planks between them to make a large bed for nighttime and then doubling as a table during the day. I just got done sailing my boat down to Ensenada from LA and plan on sailing the rest of the way to cabo mid Nov. I was planning on pre ordering some planks and just carry them across the border on my way down.

Thanks in advance
Troy

is this a 2-29?
There's one across the dock from me, If I catch the owner, I'll measure it.

Mine is 1973 2-29
22 inches by the traveler forward of steering pedestal, widening to 23 3/4 by the companionway

Re: Cal 29 Owner - Need a Hand

you guys are great, it is a 2-29. looks like i will buy them at 24" and trim them once i get to the boat.

I had this idea just after we left the boat in Ensenada, thinking i just had an original idea. Then when we got Phoenix, we went to the book store and I bought a book "why didn't i think of that". that book had the same idea in it. Oh well so much for the original idea. If you get the chance, it has 1,198 different ideas on how make life easier on a boat.

Thanks again
Troy
