Our little hole in the water
is a Cal 28
181. We have her in the San Francisco
Bay, where she has spent most of her life. We are (have been for 10 months now) working on bringing her into the new millennium. All the systems need replacing, and many were never there. We have the old original Signet wind
gauges but will be replacing them with electronics
She is such a spacious and roomy little boat and loves to point into the wind
. When we have sailed her into the right conditions, not too much swell and hard winds, like 20 knots, she just leaps to life. She is our learning
boat at this point and during the course of working on her we are learning
about all the systems, so that when we upgrade, possibly to a Cal
34 in a few years, we will be better prepared to handle the larger boat.
Original spec and rigging sheets
and owners manual are out there for download, check at the yahoo site in particular.
How long have you had her and what are you doing with her?
here are some links. some are more active than others, but I have found good stuff on all of them;
