C&C Landfall 48

Does anyone have experience or comments regarding this boat? I can't seem to find any reviews or opinions on it. I read a little about C&C, and know they are built in Canada. I love the aft cockpit pilothouse layout of the Landfall 48. Seems like a nice, big displacement boat with lots of tankage.

There were 24 built, and we own #23 from 1982.

How do you like it? Do you liveaboard? Are there any big issues or anything with this certain design?

Sorry, mistakenly hit send before finishing typing on my phone. We absolutely love the design and while we only cruise Georgian Bay in the summers now, we did spend 2 incredible years in the Caribbean from 2004-2006. She's definitely a trade wind boat, thoroughly relishing in 20 knots (and sailing at 8+). The pilot house is fantastic, a place to get out of the sun or out of the rain. As with all old C&C's you need to watch out for water ingress in the decks around all fittings, and I do think the rudder on this design should have been skeg hung (as opposed to a very large fin).

Overall, we still compare Galadriel to many much newer designs and can't find any reasons to make a switch (except for that new fibreglass smell). Our kids would rather sell our house than part with the boat!

Also, you asked about tankage : yes another feature that we take for granted. We carry 300 gallons of water (4 stainless tanks) and 150 gallons of fuel (2 fibreglass tanks). The old Perkins 4-236 burns just 1.2 gph while we motor along at 7 knots and 1,400 rpm. Quiet, comfortable, and efficient.
