C & C 29

Hello everyone. Any C&C 29 owners out there? Any comments on this sailboat, good or bad. Looke for as much info as I can get.

Maggie & I lived aboard & cruised our 1984 C&C29 (MkII), “Southbound”, for most of the 1990s.
My memory is beginning to fail me, but I’d try to answer any specific questions I can.

Heather, if Gord's memory is beginning to fail him, it is only because he has forgotten more than most of us will ever know. I have never owned a C&C 29, but have had a friend who did and can at least give the following snapshot: well constructed, attractive, well balanced, decent performance (although less oriented to performance than some of C&C's other designs), good quality hardware and deck layout. As to criticisms, all I can recall hearing is that the v-berth was a trifle short and that the coachouse portlights can be very difficult to replace (use bedding compound only).

I used skipper one as a six-pack boat. It was a well built boat. Beefy, solid feeling and a good design for what it was intended for. It was not missing anything or had any serious design flaws. All the C&C's I have seen are like that. I think they are some of the better (older) monohulls out there.
