Re: Bukh

In my book Bukh is possibly the best small boat inboard diesel. In many ways it reminds me of old era Volvo Pentas (we have an MD7 here), no glowplugs, no nonsense, etc. Turn key and start.

Velkommen - BUKH A/S

I used their small engine (now discontinued, maybe 10hp) and a newer (some 20 hp) unit. Both engines were super smooth, started first turn and I loved them.

Send them an email if you have any questions.

Re: Bukh

They are one of the few engines built specifically as a boat engine. Quiet and reliable. Parts are very expensive though. I might have that Service manual for the two cylinder version.

Kind regards

Re: Bukh

I found the service manual online. I had a couple Westerbeke Bukh 10s that had sat for years ...............if I remember correctly the thing weighed about 350lbs. I pulled a couple with the boom and an old comealong.

1st start after 5 years: I found it helps to talk to your Bukh

Re: Bukh

PS I would convert a raw water motor into a fresh water cooled. Cheap mod in the long run.
