Re: Bottom paint choices

Putter around a mooring field in your area and look at the boat bottoms. Note the cleaner ones and try to catch the owners to see what they used and how long the boat has been in the water and if they scrub it regularly. When you find a clean one that has been in the water for a while with little regular maintenance, then that is the paint you want. If you will be pulling the boat each year, then pick the cheapest paint you can find and only put on a single thin coat.

Re: Bottom paint choices

Pettit - bottom paint, with a copper-base formula, stands out for ocean cruising. At about $280 USD a gallon, it is not cheap but is well worth it. Barnacles will hate you for using it! Mauritz
