Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Way under $30k for this one and way up on the 'desire' meter...

Hughes 38 in what looks like pretty good shape. Out of my league but may be highly sought after by some world travelers looking for their vehicle!

It's actually in Ontario, I wonder if the price is in CDN? That would be about $9,400 USD.

Douglas 32 project boat $2,900. Running Yanmar 30. Needs sails, winched, rudder...
Link:
Douglas 32, Yanmar 3GM30 Inboard Diesel | sailboats | Trenton | Kijiji

As is, it would make a cheap live aboard for anyone in the Toronto area...

I'd buy it, but already have a project boat.

Catamaran 30' Iroquois Sailboat - $29900 (Avenue, Md). Dunno anything about the design, but looks to be in passably good condition:

Now this looks like a good deal. These are built like tanks and sail beautifully. Owner just restored it and needs to sell due to relocation:

Beautiful Islander 30 MKII for sale or **TRADE** - $6500 (Washington)

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

take a look at this darling

1978 Cape Dory Adriatic Cutter $29,000.00

The standing rigging was replaced in 2009 according to the ad. Loaded with equipment. And clean. The interior woodwork looks great except it appears some leakage from the ports has caused damage.

[QUOTE=kalbahnov;2357931]1979 Fisher Fairway 37 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

This Fisher 37 had been sitting at $60k for quite a long time, now with a sudden and dramatic price drop to below the threshold for this thread.

I sent an inquiry about this boat and the broker stated there was a firm offer in place. Promised to notify me if things change.

Most of you are probably already aware of these two boats listed right here on CF, but just in case anyone missed one:

For Sale: 28ft Dehler Duetta in the Caribbean - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

I want to buy both of them, leave one in the Pacific NW and the other in Martinique, and split the year between them. . . . But first, two daughters to put through college!

A Y30 was our neighbour in Cairns. I thought it was a new boat and walked up to the guy and we we talked. His boat looked pretty much hell of a sailing/cruising tool. Small but well built and with good volume and space both down below and in the cockpit/deck.

If the hull is sound and nothing major is amiss, this may be a very worthy project for someone with will and skills.

How well were the hulls built in Y30?

Cheers,
b.

Anyways, the market will remain flat as long as the current glut of f/g boats persist.
I always look at boats for sale, but I do have a Swan 57, a Serendipity 43, a J40 and Bertram Moppie...
