Bianca Commander 31

Hi,

I found a Danish made sailboat made by Bianca yachts, commander 31. Looks just like S&S design She 31 and IW 31, displacement and lenght, width is the same. I just couldn't find much info on the net so I hoped I could get some info about it here. Any commends, please?

It is not a S&S. They were designed by Hansen and Kjerulff.

Very fine sailing boats. However, you pay for a 31 LOA boat with only 22 of LWL.

Pretty to my eye, lovely for local use. Less than perfect (though probably still adequate) for extensive offshore.

In 2015 i acchieved a Commander 31, as marked on the owners bill she shoud been build or rebuild in Belgium (Brussels) by the shipyard "FRANCOIS" in 1969. I am trying to recunstruct the history of the ship. On board I found an old sail withe tehe sailmark of the BIANCA Yard and sail number DK 22. Is any one who can help me to more information.
If the ship is realy build in Danmark i loved to make a trip from Belgium to the warf in 2019, at her 50th anniversary.

I owned a Commander 31 for many years and know a bit about it. But for starters it is for sure constructed and build in Rudkøbing, Denmark on the Bianca yard: Bianca Yacht

The yard still exist and there are several Commanders still in action in DK.
Beautiful ship. For sure very inspired by S&S but designed by Jan Kjærulf.

It still exist but only for malntainance and repair. I visited the yard this summer on a MC- trip to Rudkøbing but not much activity. I allways loved the shape of the Bianca boats. ⛵
