One more question. Those formers/jigs that the hull was constructed on (and still attached to the shop floor), were they custom made and used for your boat only? Or are all 49ST boats built on those same fixtures?

Steve
They are custom made and CAD cut.
When we saw the CAD files we wonderered what these parts were .

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Fantastic progress... lookin' good, and if the floods came, she'd likely float (maybe with some stoppers in some holes).

Carry on...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I will post a series of photos on the hull turning.
It looked an amazing process and executed oh so smoothly .

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I just want to run my hand down the side of your hull... I'm drooling over how smooth she looks. Now that she's turned, what's next on the agenda? Start working on all the throughhulls, and interior cabinetry etc?

DDabs, Seeing you have a craving to stroke her, I thought you may appreciate a bum shot .

The next thing is probably finishing the pilothouse and cabin top and attaching this, then the solar arch and all the rest of the alu work. Standpipes will be welded in like our current boat has, instead of through hulls. This keeps the seacocks above the water line.

Note the guide rope on the port side with someone ready to give it a tweak:

Did you get photos of the other hull being turned?

Push on the far side of one eyeball through your eyelid and you will see the missing one
