Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Are you going to paint the hull or go au natural? Will the hull be faired to any extent?

I think I remember you were going to paint the decks. Decided on a color?

I spotted a footprint on the cardboard covering the underside of the pilot house roof overhang a few photos back. Real men are at work .

I am surprised anything was left lying around though . The premises are kept SUPER neat and tidy.

The hull will be unpainted above the waterline, but sanded perfectly smooth. This bit I am really looking forward to seeing. KM's finished hulls look just amazing.

The decks will be painted, but only in smooth-curved patches, so that any sanding, masking and painting will be easy when touch ups are necessary. We wanted to avoid paint, but couldn't come up with a better non skid finish. The stick on finishes didn't appeal at all, even though they are nice underfoot.

Feedback here has been very helpful with deck paint decisions. After the discussion a few pages back we are going for white rather than pale grey (heating issues) and a rectangle on the top of the pilothouse will also be painted.

Oh, literally jumping up and down with excitement here .

Our yacht has just felt the kiss of sunshine for the first time.

She is outside ready to be turned this afternoon and looking oh so gorgeous to our eyes:
