How does the keel get put on? Is it bolted and welded?

Fully welded.
No keel bolts to worry about

Re: Bestevaer 49ST
The hull was taken through the front of the building around to the travel lift adjacent to the yard at the rear:

Re: Bestevaer 49ST
These are out of order, as we have received a lovely big batch of the entire process.
I think it looks absolutely eerie having the boat seemingly floating in free space before being put on the trailer.
Note what one of the supports goes through!

Seaworthy, Do you know the weight of the hull in its current state?

No I don't, but the bow thruster tube is plenty strong to lift it by. It could easily be lifted just via the openings in the bulwark.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST
An artistic shot with summer flowers in the foreground. I can't believe how lush and green it is in the Netherlands. At this time of year in the Cyclades the greenery is non existent.
Today is the first day we are seeing the hull the right way up and can really appreciate the lines.
Just having some champagne to celebrate this landmark in the build :

No doubt about that!
One more question. Those formers/jigs that the hull was constructed on (and still attached to the shop floor), were they custom made and used for your boat only? Or are all 49ST boats built on those same fixtures?
