Best Quality Used Liveaboards for $50k ?

I'm new to all this and am planning to buy a used sailboat as a live aboard in the Caribbean in the next year or so. I will have about 30-50k. I like the layout of the Endeavor 35's but really have no knowledge of the quality of these or any used boat in my price range. I don't have the funds to get a new boat. I've seen a lot of older (late 70's - mid 80's) in my price range. Would a ship this old suit me well if it were well taken care of and refitted? What would you guys and gals suggest???

Thanks
Jimi

Well you are bound to get all kinds of answers to that one... but speaking
for myself... we searched for many years before we could buy one... and like you... what we could afford was an older boat... so we bought a 37' CSY... solid hull and solid decks NO CORES ... no real blittering problems known to these... all else as far as I am concerned was fixable and or replacable... she is 30 years old now... still quite solid and comfortable...

older boats of good quality are out there and much more affordable due to the economy... it's a buyer market these days... make a low offer regardless of the asking cost...

Good luck on your search...

We know of at least one Endeavour 35' that has left (the couple I know has recently left on their voyage) She's a good boat.

I've heard those Endeavors had a following. I like the CSY's but there aren't many for sale it seems (hint hint). I guess I want an offshore cruiser. I would like to go across the atlantic someday though.

How do u guys feel about the tartan 37? How about the 36 catalinas of the fiesta half of the 80's.
I know of a 36 in ft myers that is going begging at around 40 that would work well for u.
