Best places to search for a long-distance cruising sailboat

Hi all, looking to buy a good long distance cruising sailboat. Length 40-44 feet. Type not decided - the important things are that she's well-equipped for cruising and have an engine in good working order.

Does anyone have recommendations for the best websites and dealers to look with? Optimally should be in northern Europe or the Mediterranean. Is Yachtworld the best place for an overview? Any other niche sites focusing on used long distance boats?

Thanks for any tips!

Best,
Patrick

I think yachtworld will have the most listings in general, many in EU and overall the most information. I spent hours on the site when I was searching. However, once you identify models that might be of interest and want more detailed information on a specific boat then other resources will probably be more useful.

With the economies of South Europe in bad shape, probably that's the best place to find a boat, particularly in Italy, Spain and Portugal.

This is an interesting search engine since you can sell a boat directly (if you are not a dealer) and with some help you will find some boats sold directly without a dealer intervention and that can make them cheaper.

Barcos de ocasión en España

This is where you will find most Italian boats but beware because in Italy the buyer also pays the dealer and to the price you should join 7% commission.

Probably some of the best deals are around SE Asia as many fully equipped cruising boats are stacked up there too afraid to go thru the canal (with good reason) and too afraid to sail around Cape of Good Hope.
