Best Place in San Francisco

Hi all,
I have a friend who may be needing a place to put his boat on the hard to do some work. Does anyone know of the best, easiest and/or cheapest place in the San Fran bay area to put it on the hard to do some work?? I'll pass on the info to my friend as I have no idea. Hoping someone here knows or has done this themselves..

Thanks for everyone's time and help!!

A friend, who has more water under his sailing shoes than Santa under his sleigh swears by the Berkeley marina.

I can vouge (SP?) for The Berkeley Marine Center.

I've had The Chester P there for a month now while finishing up a refit.

Also, they're one of the few yards that allow you to work on your own boat in their yard.

Re: Best place in San Fran....

You're welcome, Shadow-

A friend of mine just put his 48ish wooden ketch in the Berkeley yard yesterday for annual clean up and maintenance. He's the captain of Pegasus, a nice guy by the name of Richard G. Pegasus is a training vessel used for youth programs and Richard is pretty particular about how his boat is handled and treated- you might want to stop by and briefly interview him about his experience there if your considering that yard. I'm sure he has more experience with them than I do- I've only been in the yard now for a little over 4 weeks--- hope to be done soon though! Richard is a local and has been using Cree and Carl at that yard for a number of years.

Regards-

Chuck
