Re: Best Pilothouse Sailboat?

Well the primary steering position is inside the saloon so I figure it counts as a pilothouse! Also she is definitely a sailboat first, not a motorsailer.

The surveyor I employed described her as "a work of art" and offered to buy her if I decided not to, which is pretty reassuring to me!

1977 31' Bombay Pilot. Great Hull(similar to Island Packet 26) good visibility both through the cabin when at cockpit, over the cabin, or from the cabin helm. Mainly because its mine though is what makes it best!

Re: Best Pilothouse Sailboat?

Wondering how well Fisher pilot house boats sail. I can't recall ever seeing a photo of a Fisher in Latitude 38 magazine, nor do I particularly recall reading any letters from people cruising them in the S.Pacific. Thanks for your insight.

They seem well built to me... just from observation. Nice high REAL bulwarks etc. I've always admire them for what they are. But I doubt they are great sailors... not sure many in this discussion are though, if you include going to weather.. The Fisher 25 is over 10000 lbs!

Hi, I can regularly achieve 5-6 knots from around a fourteen knot breeze, SOG, 35 degrees to the wind is the closest that I can get and still achieve some forward motion, sails well downwind, (but then what doesn't), all in all it's a comprimise that suits me.
Fisher 32.
Cheers.

Re: Best Pilothouse Sailboat?

I have sailed on both a Fishercat 32 and Fisher 37. Neither boats were good in light wind and the ketch rig lends itself to the North Sea winds. They were safe and slow. That being said, I am a fan of Fisher and especially the two mentioned above.

Very interesting boat Congratulations!!!

Morozov Yachts - custom yachts for unlimited cruising SOLER-35 FAST CRUISER

The boat, like on the project, has water ballast and a lifting keel?
How much it had cost you?
I would like very much to see some interior pictures. Can you post them?

Re: Best Pilothouse Sailboat?

Yes, the boat has the water ballast, lifting keel and hull/deck of foam sandwich with infusion and reinforced with Kevlar. The only deviation from original design, I have replace the transom rudders to standard Jefa. Sale price about 250K euro. She is prototype boat, the further boats will be with sandwich or aluminium hulls. As prototype boat, the interior is simple.

You mean 250K with lifting keel and water tanks, sail away price including sails and basic equipment? Even if that is without of IVA? it is a good price.

The interior seems simple but functional excepts om the galley where I find you could have a lot more storage up the bench.

Congratulations again, very cool boat and certainly a fast one too. Great rigging arrangement. Lots of storage on the cockpit and a sail locker!!! First time I see one on a fast 35ft boat.
