Best area to buy a 36' boat in Florida

I have a boat on Lake Michigan but plan on spending winters in Florida the next few years. I am looking at someplace around Mexico City or Panama City with a covered boat house to house the boat when I am not in Florida. I plain on buying a place already built but will build if needed. Looking at mid Oct being in Florida as a grandson has a birthday on the 10th and will leave after that. If have to rent while building will require a dock.

Where in Florida is the best place to look for used boats? I want something under 40' also under $40,000. The boat house will decide what exact size I can store. If building the boat house will be first before the house. Then will be able to take 45' boat in it just to have the option. Real Estate person I am using has three places I can look at next week so will see.

Florida is small enough and easy enough to cruise, you could buy it anywhere and have her home in a week of easy sailing.

Finding a good specimen of a sound design should be your priority.

It would be about 80' with apartments down both sides for the help to live as the grounds and house would need looked after all year.

Hurricane Michael has done a number on PC and Mexico Beach. Plan on building and good luck finding people to do the work.

Select your size/age range, and then look at the boats that serve you best. Then hit the listings for those in Florida. Easy to get to the major places.

i have seen some nice 36' trawlers parked in Tennessee or thereabouts. you could take it down to the Gulf from there but it is a long haul.

Largest collection of boats for sale (power assuming) closest to PC would be Tampa-St Pete area although you might find what you want pretty much anywhere in the state.

I may be wrong but I think the OP is looking for a power boat.

You're going to purchase waterfront property in florida to build an 80 foot long boathouse for a $40K 40-45 foot sailboat which also quarters to house live-in staff maintaining the vessel and property?

Once you're done dropping many, many hundreds of thousands, why stop at $40K for the boat?

Forgive me, but a serious question deserves a serious reply. This is not one of them. Dreams are nice, but reality, well...
