beneteau 44 center cockpit

Dear all; having spent 4 years on producing carbon fibre 36 foot cruiser/racers we put a stop on it this month as no income

SO now we want to start enjoying the good side of yachting = sailing

Believe it or not we feel Beneteau has the perfect design and experience put together in their 44 foot center cockpit

What is your experience on the yachts quality as it is obviously having a bad name in the racing scene I come out of

Who took her for serious sailing and who really understands her behaviour on the water in challenging circumstances?

Hi Eric,

If you've been building carbon hulls then would assume you'd see the difference yourself. It would be hard to consider a centre cockpit under rigged Beneteau 'Oceanis' even comparable with Beneteau 'Firsts' on a race track.

But for below deck space and other cruising attributes, I suspect they come out ahead. We've pals who have the 50' version - currently just out of Europe and on their way to Australia and they speak highly of it.
