good luck and I heartily recommend the full keel and any Cape Dory. My 25D Cape Dory has been across the Pacific. Well, NOT mine, but another 25D.

The designer, Carl Alberg, is/was Swedish and knew how to design boats for the ocean, not the docks. They are very comfortable in a seaway and heave to and de-power with ease.

I got a boat!!! Not the one to go around the world with, but it will still be awesome to finally learn to sail and in my own boat :-D
