Bavaria 33 cruiser

I am contemplating buying a new Bavaria. Seen lots of reviews but most are biased as written by a magazine for the manufacturer.
Does anyone know of any cons or indeed pros?
I live in the UK and intend to do only coastal cruising.
Any help greatly appreciated

I had a Bavaria 33 , 2009 model. Ours was an excellent boat, very comfortable, sailed fairly well (closest we could get to the Wind was about 41 degrees).

We sail the Baltic, so somewhat the same weather as you get. Only reason we sold it was to get something bigger to do a circumnavigation in. If we were only going to sail the Baltic, we would have kept it. Ours was a 2 cabin version.

We sail in almost all kinds of weather and never felt nervous in it despite being out in 35/40 Knot Winds.

Only negative I can tell you about was that when we were going hard upwind, she had a tendency to turn up into the Wind regardless of our steering. We had a good size genua, so it really just means you need to start thinking about reefing at 18-20 knots.

If you buy one, get the big engine, the Little engine is just a bit undersized

good luck - pm me if you want to know more

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: Bavaria 33 cruiser

I'm lucky user of Bavaria Cruiser 33, production August 2013. Actually a lot of boat for the price Bavaria is asking. It is sailing great, easy cruising speeeds 6-7knots. I would recommend to take from factory following optins (Some I dint )
Pilot house, midship clamps, hot water + shower, side relling openings, engine 30hp, HEATING. And of course main sail fully battened. In general reat boat with owners cabin aft.
