Bavaria 31 with keel 1.40

Hi everybody ! I have currently looking a cruising boat , find bavaria 31 with the shallow 1.40 keel . Since I will mainly be sailing in de archipelago on the east coast of England the shallow draught will of course be an advantage. But what are the drawbacks from a sailing and handling perspective? How much sailing performance can I expect to loose by choosing the shallow keel? I have also been looking for some information regarding the rudder on the shallow draught version but I haven't found anything so far. would be greatly appreciated for your opinions
