I bought a Balboa 20 a week ago to resell. I have been looking for a value on this boat but have not found much about them. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a idea of what this boat is worth?

I bought it with honda passport suv and a oday sail boat. so I do not know what I paid for it. the oday is junk but I should be able to sell the trailer and maybe the sail from it. The Balboa is yellow if that helps!!

Oh Yes!! A yellow sailboat is worth twice what a white one is worth....at least!

Five years I gave away a Balboa 21that was on a trailer and ready to sail with 5 sails....there is a difference. The 21 was made before the 20 and was a better built boat. Same hull, but the later boat had real flimsy rigging. The swing keel is nice but it can be a problem.

Oh hell no. I wouldnt have given away a YELLOW one. I could have paid off the mortgage if it had been yellow!!!

It was a dull beige.

I would be most happy if I could get enough from the Balboa to pay for the new Ray marine insterments I want to buy for our main boat. I think Yellow will able to do it!

I dont know where you are, but down here you should be able tyo get about $500 to $1000 for it. I sold a Cal 27 with inboard diesel but no trailer, in the water and ready to go for $2500. But that was top dollar in this are for a boat like that.

WOW! That's not much. The marina here thinks that they can get $2500- $4000 for it. I hope that they are right. They get 10% of the sale for their work.

I would be very surprised, pleasantly surprised for you or course, but I think they are star struck. I bought an Albin 25 on a trailer, with a Volvo 3 Turbo charged cyl diesel and it was ready to launch for $4000. I use it regularly.

Let us know how it comes out. I dont know where you are so that may make a difference, but around here 20 foot sailboats are all over the place for under $1500.

If I could sell 20 ft sailboats for what your marina says they can get for it I would be wealthy just buying all the $500 to $1000 boats I could get around here and reselling them. I am assuming that it has no mechanical powerplant..??

The marina manager that I talked to said that there people in this area that drive around looking for the type of boat that you discribe and make a living.
My feeling on the value of this boat is no more than $1500. I hope that I am wrong, but anything over $500 I will make money.
