Bahamas in Deep Draft

I am considering sailing thru the Abacos and the rest of the Bahamas in my 38 ft sailboat that draws 6"7". I know that it is shallow in many areas. Does anyone think that this will be ok or is the boat too deep for this adventure?

It may be easy for me to say with my 4' draft, but if you're careful you'll be OK. There will be places you should not venture. The vast majority of the time we have been in depths no less than about 6 feet, which has included places like Bight of Acklins. Enjoy!

We draw 6.6 and go through all the Bahamas. We are very careful about tides and consult multiple chart sources. The Abacos are easy compared to so other spots.
