I just put in an offer for a forty five foot Cape George. Listed at $349,000. My offer 210,000$ cash. The broker says there's a good chance the counter should be very competitive. If they come back under $240,000 I'll take possession of the vessel. My strategy has been to bid half asking price on Yachtworld with no luck. I see the problem being most boats are mortgaged.

Good point. I always wondered who would ask those prices in this kind of market. Now I can see why, if they are looking to unload loan paper along with the boat....

Many thanks. Here's the picture we used for our Christmas card this year...

We did what we needed to do to start using her, now I've been stuck working like mad since August (averaging over 480 hours per month, not counting November when I took two weeks off and still managed over 300 hours). I'm crying about the hours now, but I have the feeling I'll be crying about the financial hemorrhaging shortly.

The refit starts in earnest in February or March... It always seems that when there's enough money there's never enough time, and when there's enough time there's never enough money! I had a very smart man tell me early in my career that I should get used to working with the two things I'd always have plenty of: "Not enough time and not enough money."
