Auto Pilot

I am planning to install a Garmin auto pilot on my Newport 30. However, I'm not on the boat and can't measure the diameter of the rudder post.
My boat was built in 1976 and it is a MK II.
Thank you
Chip

Re: Auto Pilot

I'm not sure what that means? I need to get a Tiller Arm for the size of rudder shaft on a Newport 30 MK II. I believe they are all the same size, but I can not measure mine because I am not on the boat, and won't be for several months. I wanted to make the tiller arm now so I can attach the parts, the next time I am at the boat.
Thank you for your help
Chip

Re: Auto Pilot

I tried their webpage, but when I asked my questions in the post, the webpage could not be found.
Perhaps they are no longer active?

Re: Auto Pilot

go to harbor freight and buy a pair of calipers for a few bucks and just measure the diameter of your rudder post.

Well from OP's post #1 "I'm not on the boat and can't measure the diameter of the rudder post."

And from post #3 "I am not on the boat, and won't be for several months. I wanted to make the tiller arm now so I can attach the parts, the next time I am at the boat."

Re: Auto Pilot

You have probably already finished the project by now, but if you still need that measurement, let me know, i can get it next time i am out my boat...
