Low Country have you had a chance to sail the Alerion yet? Saw one yesterday in Manchester MA. Very pretty in person.
I was looking at a Hinckley 30 Sou'Wester while on a long layover up that way.
There is a Alerion coming available near NYC soon. I'll try to get up there and have a look.

Re: Anyone here own or sail on an Alerion Express 28?

Just Wondering how much one of these beauties cost brand new? Sounds like they are hard to find used.
I want one for Lake Memphrémagog!
Thx

But are they worth it? What should a 28' daysailer cost brand new?

There a few of them used on Yatchworld, i have seen some others posted elsewhere. Seems like 60-80k is not uncommon. Way more money than I would be willing to spend on that boat, probably because I DONT HAVE THAT KIND OF EXTRA CASH!. But they are gorgeous and have very appealing classic lines. I would sail one for sure!

I dont know.... For me personally...there reaches a point where what you really get falls off compared with the exponential cost... if that makes sense... But if you just have to have the prettiest boat (even with the littlest accomodation) in the harbor... then I guess it makes sense!
I dont know what they cost new, I think the one up here was $164k used...?
