if your looking for something more subjective.. islander/wayfarer made STOUT boats.. i have an islander 29, and it has a 1/2" hand laid fiberglasshull. i know the 24, 29/30 flushdeck, 32, and 34 are all relatively the same vintage. cutaway forefoot, typical large main (by todays standards). i am going bluewater cruising in mine, a friend has a sistership and that boat is a horn'er.
Another subjective comment? First, an observation; There are several here in the islands and most all were sailed from the mainland so if they made it that far they must be ok. I do like them and think the 34 to be the ideal size.
