Any info on Krogen sailboats?

There is a nice looking Krogen 38 Cutter for sale I wouldn't mind checking out but I'm finding very little info on the company or the boat. Any knowledge out there on the history or quality of these? Thanks

The boat you linked to has been for sale for quite a while. Might be ripe for a bargain offer.

They also built the well respected Kadey Krogen trawlers. I've been on one the cutters, at the dock and motoring around, didn't get to sail it. They have a lot of good qualities, I think, good storage, good tankage and such.

Like ohdrinkboy said, this one has been on yachtworld for a long time, at least five or six have come and gone, this one is still on there for some reason.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but is there an easy way to tell how long a listing has been on Yachtworld?

Back in the 80s, they were considered very well built boats and quite expensive at the time.

I have owned my Krogen since 1989. PM me I have a lot of information on these boats. Know mine intimately and also knew Jim Krogen Great live aboard a and wonderful sailing boats as well.

Boatwizard is the YW log on for brokers. It shows the original listing month/year and dates of price changes. The boat linked in this post has been listed since 03/15 with the current broker.

I have seen this one listed 1987 Kadey Krogen 38 sailboat for sale in Florida.


It is a ketch version with a large cockpit but less interior space. They only built one of these.
They only want $25K for it.

Jim Krogen built that one for himself. It is a bit strange belowdeck. He wanted to try ketch rig. I always thought a a schooner rig would have been better.
