Any info on a Windward 850?

I am looking to buy a Windward 850 sailboat - also sometimes called a Windward 28. I have been on the boat and inspected it, and it looks well built and otherwise will meet my needs for sailboat. I believe the boat was made in Canada, but about the only information I can find online about this boat is some limited specs on SailboatData.com (and even that is pretty sparse). Anyone have any other information, specs, or reviews on this boat? Thanks!

Re: Any info on a Windward 850?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Deep Waters.

Spencer Boats began production of moulded fibreglass sailboats in 1954. The yard was located on Canada’s west coast, in the town of Richmond (12391 Twigg Rd.), British Columbia.
Yachts built by Spencer Boats enjoyed a reputation of being very well constructed. Spencer Boats attached the bulkheads and deck to the hull, while the hull was still in the mould, to ensure that the hull remained undistorted. The hull deck joint is heavily fiberglassed, forming a strong monocoque structure. The bulkheads are bonded to both the hull and deck, and the furniture is also bonded to the hull for additional support.
Like many sailboat builders, Spencer Boats ceased business in the economic downturn of the early 1980s.
