any feedback about comparing these two boats

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these two boats to learn to sail on. They are the Montgomery 15 and the Potter 15.
In case you do not have firsthand knowledge, here are some of the comparisons:

Montgomery: weight is about 1,065
Potter: weight is about 555 pounds

Montgomery: beam is 6'2"
Potter: beam is 5'6"

Montgomery: has a board
Potter: has a keel

Montgomery has more sail sq. feet than the Potter

The Montgomery is more expensive than the Potter new by about 3-4 thousand dollars

both can sleep 2.
the Potter is beachable, normally the keel down gives it a 3 foot depth--keel up is 7 inches
the montgomery with the board down is about 2 feet.

I will be learning to sail it in South Florida, in the Indian River and St. Lucie River area of Stuart and then coastal in close sight of the beaches. Also, sleeping overnight in it with my two small sons--

Any feedback would be appreciated. I am leaning toward the Potter 15 because of its less expensive price, but I have heard that the Montgomery is a better sailor. But is it worth the extra 3 to 4 thousand new? As for buying used, these boats seem a bit hard to find here in South Florida. I think the Precision boats and the Com-Pac baots are more popular here because they are made here in Florida. But the Precision is too small to sleep in as is the Com-Pac.

I would go with the Potter because of the price and resale value.
