Any Bristol 22' Owners?

Hi everyone!

I'm brand spankin' new to the sailing thing and have been looking at purchasing a Bristol 22' to start our adventures with.

Does anyone around these parts own one or can tell me anything about them? I have the Craigslist listing, but aside from what information he's given me, I'm not sure what I should be asking before buying, since I literally have no boat experience aside from what I've soaked up here w/in the last week or so and a whole lotta' Googling and kind PM's from another forum member.

I owned a Bristol 22 and they are very good sailing boats. I was very happy with the sailing performance. I particularly like the outboard cutout. Very handy in handling the outboard. What you have to look out for, and this is true for any old boat, is whether the deck coring in solid or water-logged. If extensive, this repair is a lot of work if you do it yourself and very expensive if you pay someone to do it. Check the bulkheads on the interior for any rot at the chainplates.
