American Fiberglass Sailboat - a Good Deal ?

I was thinking about jumping on this CL posting, if everything checks out. I'm just looking for some input. Also, I have no idea how much the new mainsail would set me back.

If you are good at repairs and sort out what needs to be done it is not a bad deal. I can't even buy a trailer here for that kind of money. The American doesn't have a super positive reputation but then again you aren't paying too much. You can spend lots of money on sails or get them through a used sail broker for pretty cheap ($400 to $1000).
Its best for you to go look at the boat with a knowledgeable friend and check the mast and boom and rigging. Those things add up real quick if they have to be replaced.
