Am I in the right place? 13' Chrysler Pirateer

Good afternoon! I am now the proud owner of a 13' Chrysler Pirateer.

It is indeed a monohull sailboat but it's a small day sailing boat. Is this the right place to discuss sailing it or is there a better place to be posting?

Thanks,

Philip

Phil, welcome to CF. Yep, there are lots of folks here who will be glad to talk boat with you... about your boat or any other that can be seen or imagined. Just ask away, and you will get responses galore. Some will be useful, others not so much, and some just plain BS. Your job is to figger out which is which!

Enjoy the forum and your new boat... pretty similar to my first boat nearly 45 years ago (an O'Day Osprey).

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Am I in the right place? 13' Chrysler Pirateer

Welcome... I have a Chrysler Mutineer (pirateer's slightly bigger brother). I've had fun sailing around the local lakes with it. It was strange to buy a boat commissioned by a car company, but she's a tough ol'gal rounding 40yrs now...

I'm not sure where you're at, but there are still some very active racing fleets for the chrysler (now nickels) series boats, Mutineers and Buccaneers. I'm not sure if there is a Pirateer fleet or not, but it's worth checking out.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. I've sailed Lidos, Capris, Rebels and Flying Juniors and they are all fun boats. Pirateer is too.
kind regards,
