Re: Alberg 35 Question With Pics

If you have questions, the surveyor is your best bet for sure. And if you end up buying her, let us know! I LOVE my A35 and hope one comes into your life too. What hull number is this you are looking at?

Re: Alberg 35 Question With Pics

Thanks the reassuring words, I do love the boat I just want to be careful what I am getting myself into. In this market I want to buy a boat and not have to worry about selling it for a while. It would be my first boat, and while I have mechanical and electrical experience, I have never worked on anything that can sink. I have a survey scheduled for this thursday. Now if I could just get a hold of that broker .

P.S. I think it was hull 140 something, should have taken more pictures.

Re: Alberg 35 Question With Pics

I have been on a few of these. It's probably as mentioned earlier. Some water got the wood funky and they pulled it up and painted it poop brown. But does look like a typical 60's lam job to me.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow - what a ride!"

Re: Alberg 35 Question With Pics

Sailaway85: enjoy your A35...Jon and I love ours...NWS all the cosmetic issues, she is one of the most comfortable and graceful s/vessels I have been on. ( But then I am an old "retro" girl so of course I love our "Karen") With your "mechanical and electrical" experience your way ahead of the game....Take Jon's( Jonathan Reiter's) advice and join the Alberg35 owners group, there is so much info there to help you in the restoration process and the various owner's accounts of their projects and experiences are fun to read.
