Alberg 30 pump out

My fiance and I bought our Alberg 30 a few months back and when we bought it the guy we bought it from told us he would have it pumped out before we picked it up. Turns out he lied about that and now I have a full septic tank and can't figure out where the pump out valve is. Guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I’d be surprised if any Alberg 30 was delivered factory with a holding tank.

In essence, what you’ve got is unique, so you’ll need to trace out your particular system

I spent part of Saturday trying to trace the system. None of the hoses I followed led to a pump-out valve. The holding tank is under the port side of the v-berth and I'm guessing the outlet line is under or behind the holding tank where I can't see it.

Is it possible that this system was set up to only discharge into the sea?

That’s quite possible, but if you’ve got a deck fitting for waste, just follow the hose to the tank. I’d be surprised if there’s a valve in there.

I've got a deck fitting for water and a deck fitting for diesel. I've scoured every inch of deck looking for a fitting for waste and there's isn't one. I'm planning to replace the whole system, but I suspect it's much easier to do with an empty holding tank than a full one.

No deck fitting means no pump out. Sounds like the holding tank is plumbed only for direct discharge. You’ll need to locate either the macerate or diaphram discharge pump and the corresponding overboard discharge valve.

Re: Alberg 30 pump out

You may have a Y valve and a dedicated manual pump which leads to a through hull. This allows you to empty your holding tank at will....offshore of course. Perhaps someone with a bit more experience will take a look at your setup. All are somewhat unique if they are retrofit.
