It's almost a "crowd-source" design in that while the site owner has very definite ideas about what counts as basic, a lot of people have made constructive suggestions that have evolved the design. Disclaimer: This is the only boat forum I've paid to join. The quality of the discourse is exceptional, as is the general level of experience.
I joined too, largely due to the Adventure 40 project.
It is a really nice spin on trying to put a concrete answer to the seen-it-a-million-times "what makes a bluewater boat" thread. Each aspect of the boat was discussed in detail by some pretty knowledgeable individuals. It has been fun watching it develop.
To me the process is more interesting than the end result. The discussions and argument along the way, in the articles and especially comments. I learned a ton reading them. Great info for how to outfit any boat for cruising.
