That actually makes perfect sense.....
I have Tecma toilets which have never given me a problem as we use fresh water and maceration pump is incredibly strong.

I wish I had ordered them with the integrated bidet.

Re: A Dirty Topic.... Toilet Paper! What to do with it?

I've been responsible for a little thread drift before and here it is again....
Odor came up in a post above. We use a holding tank. I would love to have the influence that would allow me to convince my wife to have a composting head, but no! She will not change from her committment of added huge volumes of water to increase the volume of sewage that we store in our large holding tank, but that's a lost debate for me, because of the "eeeuuuw" factor.... 'back to the intent of my digression,- Aerobic vs anaerobic bacteria! Anaerobes stink! If you can do anything to increase the flow or surface area with oxygen in your holding tank, do it! I convinced my wife not to add anything to our head, such biocides or bleach, in order for us to promote the growth of aerobic bacteria. I also added a second vent to the tank with an effluent on the opposite side of our boat to provide a little oxygen rich breeze across the surface of our holding tank contents. We all know that when you pump material into a holding gases need to exit the vent. We're not pumping out a floral scent, but our fumes promoting aerobes are far better than the past when my wife was trying to sanitize the mix with toxic chemicals like bleach!

Since we're talking trash ....

After 20+ years with a standard marine head we've put a Jabsco electric head on the new boat. Is there anything I should know or do differently with the electric head?

I notice that the percentage of "baggers" on these threads is decreasing (or they are being quiet about their nasty practices).

Put the paper with the poo where it belongs!

Re: A Dirty Topic.... Toilet Paper! What to do with it?

Actually some of the "thick" and "strong" tp's are made with very short fibers, and the fiber type is just one of several invisible things that make some tp dissolve very quickly.

Takes forever in the sea? Uh, no. "Septic safe" tp sogs apart very quickly. Put 1 piece in a glass of water overnight, come back and see if it doesn't disintegrate as soon as the water is swirled. That's what happens in the open ocean as well.

Some of the cheap stuff is incredibly durable. The result of cheaply processed fiber compressed into thin hard sheets. Bad for septics, bad for holding tanks.

Wife is quality control engineer at Kimberly Clark in Mobile Al. .....I get to hear about this every day......Just use cheap double ply. Single ply is a rip-off.

We use Scott single-ply from the market, which we flush using discretion in quantity.

The only clog we've ever had was from someone who came on as crew and turned out to be a passenger. *sigh*

With guests (and now crew) I show a spare joker valve and point out the size of the orifice. On my boats, personal or on delivery, the rule is simple: you clog it, you fix it. I'll stand behind you and hand you tools and give advice.

No more clogs.

Whoever came up with the idea of spreading fecal matter around your bumhole like spreading Nutella on bread had one heck of a warped sense of humor. Cleaning you bum after use is a much more sanitary 21st century solution. Get yourself a bidet wand and wash that ***** away!

A PENCIL is a traditional 2D animation software tool.
Pencils create marks by physical abrasion, leaving behind a trail of solid core material that adheres to a sheet of paper or other surface
