A Bavaria 44 Sails the Northwest Passage !

This is only information. From an non objective owner of a Bavaria. But the fact is : a Bavaria 44 succeed last summer to sail through the Arctic passage from atlantic to pacific. You have a description of their "voyage" in the famoust french sailing review : "Voiles et Voiliers" from March 2010.
I give you the link to see the photo of this Bavaria on the cover page :
http://www.voilesetvoiliers.com/item...e_picture/6062

I red in a former thread whose title was "Opinions on Bavaria Yachts" :
"I think you need to judge boats by how they are used not what they don't get used for. I would not take one (Bavaria) to the polar ice caps. I can't say I'm headed there in any boat either".

For myself, I agree whith the last sentence ! Med sea is perfect for me !

But the fact is : they succeeded !

Once again, the more important is not the kind of yacht, but the captain !

Great read, thanks for the info and yah, it should definitely show people that bene's, jen, and bavaria's can indeed succeed in difficult transits..
