Floor timbers and sheer clamps. Now we're getting technical. Hopefully, this would show up in a survey.
The sheer clamp is where the deck and hull come together.
Cascade used 3 - 5 layers of mahogany as the sheer clamp. If you get water under the toe rail or leaking where the screws are on the of the toe rail it rots.
Looks like a factory cabin top.
Floor timbers are what hold up the floor. They are also mahogany and bedded and glassed to the hull.
Sheer clamp is the most likely to rot.
I replaced 260 linear ft of sheer clamp in my boat this last summer.
Call Cascade and see if they have any of the keel bolts.

Re: 77 Cascade 29

tcul,

They are good boats if in good shape. You can tow it with a dinghy and outboard. Make friends with some boatowners where it is located to see if you can strike a deal to tow it to a yard for survey.

If you can get the phone number for Cascade (I don't have their number any more) then give them the hull number and they can tell you if it is a factory finished boat.

PDX can correct me but I believe the keel bolts are standard sized bolts and can be purchased locally.

Good luck in your dealings.

kind regards,

Oh, I forgot to mention that a good sailor can sail it most the way to haulout in Keehi. Just the last few hundred yards once you get in the harbor are tricky to get to the haulout slip.

You'll find someone there to help? Sorry I'm on another island.

kind regards,

Re: 77 Cascade 29

Now it is called cascade yacht works and is in Warrenton,Or.

info@cascadeyachtworks.com

503 440 0233

Unfortunately when Hans sold the company the jerk who bought it threw out the records of all Cascades built and owners.
The person who is the owner now is great to deal with.
File for my boat had a complete history going back to when it was shipped out as a bare hull with floor timbers, Keel and main bulk heads.

The cost will run between a few hundred, to well over the worth of the boat. In other words....many thousands.
