66 Morgan 34

I might have a chance to pick up a swing keel M34 at a good price. I find it an attractive boat, but my online research indicates that there isn't much underneath. I'd appreciate any light that my fellow forumites could shine on her sailing characteristics. Thanks.

Not sure, but there used to be a pretty well-developed Morgan board online somewhere. I used to own a 1969 Morgan Classic 33 and loved that boat. Used to be on the board a lot and remember a lot of well-informed folks on there. Sally Morgan, Charlie's wife even used to chime in occasionally.

Anyway - wish I had a link for ya, but I'm sure a google search could get you going in the right direction.

I hope this thread is still alive.
I hope you bought the M34. It is a great boat. I assume by your saying there isn't much underneath that you are referring to the draft of 3.25'. Remember that this boat has a capsize ratio under 1.8 and a comfort ratio over 32. This boat can do 6.7kts and better. Mine has done 7.5kts on a regular basis. It is a sweet boat. It goes like hell off the wind, and will go to weather quite well if you balance the rig and center board.
If you have any questions at all I would be happy to answer them. I also have a pretty good schematic diagram of the center board system.
