40 Best Sailboats

I bet a bunch of CFers are going to be all pissed off to have their "special" boat included in the company of "other" boats on this list

Hmmmmm...

The 40 Best Production Monohulls of All Time this glossy magazine article says. Kinda limits the field, eh? Makes it more of a glorified advertisement for production boats instead of an unbiased article of some actual value, doesn't it? Not really the same thing as the 40 best sailboats of all times at all is it? So why the title?

You must not have read the list to see what boat names are included in the the evil "production" boats!

Like I said, a lot of people are going to get all pissed off!

Given Europe makes the most , and half of them are missing , its not much of a list

Looking to *any* list to either validate or invalidate your choice in boats is the peak of insecurity.

Like ALL such lists, and more than one would like to admit of this forum.

But people really like them.

Re: 40 best sailboats

Stupid list and includes some great boats and misses lots of others... and includes several which don't belong on a list of best cruising boats. Cruising World... a largely irrelevant (now) marketing operation for the boat builders etc.

Re: 40 Best Sailboats

Fortunately, I cant find the list! CW seems to have become the worst of the worst for ibiased nfo and self aggrandizing content. Sail mag has actually improved from that low point years ago and has some good information now.

Re: 40 Best Sailboats

Ridiculous list, designed to sell advertising to their American clients. Silly that there is not a single Najad on the list, nevermind the 380, which Jeanne Socrates just sailed non-stop around the world. Not a single French builder, either.

How far CW has fallen.
