28-36 Sailboat with large cockpit,st wheel,marine head, kind of fast. Recommendation?

I like the Nonsuch suggestion, no jib sheets to disturb those reclining (sort of, pretty upright coamings) with libations in the cockpit. Even the 26 has a roomy head and shower too I believe.... But the Hinckley? Yes, gorgeous! What budget are we talking about here?

The Hinkley, along with most of the other suggestions, fails in the sporty, kinda fast criterion that the OP stipulated.

Pretty? Yep, Fast? Not so much, limited by short LWL and high D to LWL ratios. Big cockpit? Long, but not so wide, not particularly comfy.

And pretty dear, too!

3 feet more and a classic Bristol 39 would give you some speed and a large cockpit.

Typically I've found Juneau's have a decent balance between creature comfort and a decent cockpit. Current boat is a well sailed O'day 34, won't outflank a J boat, but will definitely hold its own against similarly appointed 34-36' 1980's racer/ cruisers. Much more cockpit than a C&C 34-36, but not as fast.

Your requirements are pretty basic and you said nothing about quality. Just go out some afternoon looking at boats and buy something.

Beneteau First 345 from the mid 80's. Most have tillers but there are some with a wheel. Fantastic amount of boat for the money.

Suggest alerion yawl for sail Sister Bay Wi. Saw it out sailing last week.
Fabulous well designed and built boat. More a daysailer than cruiser at a great price. Fresh water.

The alerion looks a lot like a Hinckley. In fact I think the alerion was the inspiration.

The cockpit on them is tiny. It fits maybe 4 people and without a wheel, two fo those people are swapping back and forth. The two seats nearest the companionway don't go flush to the wall, they have a lip behind them so you can't lean back on that side. Really not comfortable.

I've checked out every boat here and all of 0 of them fit what I'm looking for so wasting my time looking at boats that likely fit that bill is pointless. Seemingly, the sailboat industry is not that intelligent when it comes to what makes for a good day sailboat.

I have no idea what these cost but I really like them. Seems to fit your criteria, other than cost and I think you mentioned wanting a wheel.

There's one currently cruising where I am, at its very cool and very fast. I was surprised at the accommodation and dinghy storage considering the type of boat it is.

I'm loving modern European yacht design.
