Re: 1970's Tartan 41

Hello, nothing wrong with 1970 built boats! Check out our 1970 Allied 39 at www.allied39.blogspot.com The Tartans are great boats with S&S design- they knew how to design & build boats right in the 70's. Good luck, I'd say even a fix it upper if your handy to change thru-hulls, hoses etc. will work. Keep us posted how you make out.

Re: 1970's Tartan 41

I love the designs you are discussing here - very pretty boats, from a good stable and with hulls promising fast and safe ride. On my side of the pond only the Swan is pretty common.

Looking at the prices, if a sound and clean example can be had, I would definitely be very, very tempted.

Re: 1970's Tartan 41

Bob,

Does your Tartan 41 have the modified keel or the original? I recently bought a T-41 (Sundance) with the original keel that sought of resembles the old twelve meter Courageous in way. I would have liked the modified keel as it appears to add to performance with the added weight and draft, especially down wind.
