1967 Monk Ketch

I'm new at the ways of forums and such, but was hoping there was some people out there who would like to help out some young aspiring sailors. We are interested in a 1967 37' Monk Ketch and were wondering about Ed Monk and his boat designs. Are they similar to the Tahiti Ketchs? Does anyone out there have experience in coastal cruising and/or passage making with a Monk Ketch or something of similar specs? Since we are all greenhorns on the ocean we were hoping that this boat was something stable and reliable in which to make our first coastal cruising adventure and beyond. Thanks all who take the time to reply.
