1957 Zeeland 37 cutter rigged Yawl
I'm flying to Florida Thursday night to look at and purchase her
Yes she's older, newer than my last 3 cars.
Yes she's metal, hull deck, bulletproof.
Her wood mast was replaced with a monster mast (for bigger sailboat) with super heavy duty rigging and the entire interior is African Mahogany.
I have found very little about this boat except only a few were built for friends and have been great circumnavigators as well as racers.
As this site has shown me a ton of advice I look forward to finding out what you may know about the boat
Thank y'all

Re: 1957 Zeeland 37 cutter rigged Yawl
I sailed on one in Chicago about 20 years ago. It's a small boat and the hull is riveted. Not sure about that for salt water, but I guess if it's made it this long?

beautiful lines.....yawl not cutter.......inspect inside the hull in the hard to reach places for rust...if no rust it's a sweet deal

Re: 1957 Zeeland 37 cutter rigged Yawl
What a beautiful boat. It seems to have many of the features I have been considering in a boat, and somewhat more checkmarks than any other model I've seen. I'd be jealous of Gator if I were more advanced in my sailing and boat purchasing plans. So thanks for bringing up this boat.
I also wanted to add that whoever made the website for Cyrene did it right. You could sell any clean boat if you took pictures like that and made everything so clear and simple to view.

Re: 1957 Zeeland 37 cutter rigged Yawl
Thank you once again everyone. I had no Idea about these until a friend told me about a 1967 allied yawl in his marina that I barely missed, I really liked the yawls aspects from single hand sailing, anchoring even helping to hove to. Its a beast of a sturdy boat but like some of you said she's got nice lines.
Thank you Gord for that link, I had found a few things on that boat but not that page

Gator Bait:
I would be VERY careful about this. I just found 4 separate listings by Googling the boat, and they all appear similarly suspicious, with the owner "not being available," and all about the payment arrangements, i.e. paypal and checks, etc.
This is very much the same as a huge amount of craigslist scams currently happening. Watch yourself carefully here. Good luck

Re: 1957 Zeeland 37 cutter rigged Yawl
Thanks Seahag. I've spoke to the owner for hours about every detail of the boat to the point that he is picking me up at the airport even. cash deal and he's offered to help finish some of the projects he's started, his boat is with the one I'm buying.
Thank you for the heads up. I'm not generally very trusting and on point around new people (military, bodyguard, etc.)
