I prefer Google scholar or yahoo and online scientific publications.
Some of what I post is purposefully different just to see who is paying attention and its only you. Nobody else cares .

Since you image was not from a scholarly paper, I suspect you are fibbing again.

Suspicious Observers is not indexed on Google Scholar.

Exactly. Once again you change the topic in an attempt to obscure the fact that much of which you post is opinion-based, rather than fact-based.

Why should I care what you think, or what you spout off about?

There are two main points of contention:

1) Is AGW real, and is it a serious threat?
2) If real and serious, is there anything we can do about it?

Based on all the scientific articles I've been reading and posting about, I believe the answer to #1 is YES, AGW is real and serious.

My answer to the second question is a much more tentative (and possibly unjustifiably hopeful), yes. The world community has made changes, and is continuing to make changes, but it is not yet clear to me whether those changes will be sufficient and timely?

Ultimately, I'm sure, big government (recent US elections notwithstanding. SAD...) and big industry will play an essential role it what ever solutions are developed. But we individuals also need to do what we can as well. A major reason why I continue to spend huge amounts of my time arguing with you deniers is to try to raise the general awareness of the two points above.

Thanks, Exile, Newhaul, Reefmagnet and other deniers, for helping to make this thread interesting and educational (if off-topic).

Re: Northwest Passage - 2018

(just so you'll know it's not all doom and gloom...)

Warming Planet Could Mean Bigger Corn Crops for U.S. | Bloomberg

While hotter weather generally threatens to sap crops of needed moisture, data from Midwest corn-growing states suggests the region will see warmer summers with more humidity, which would aid plant growth and yields, according to a study by Michigan State University researchers.

The data showed daily low temperatures in warm summer months are rising but that high temperatures are cooling or unchanged, which means more humidity and less energy used in evaporation from the soil or leaves.

The researchers used the energy balance to calculate the “evaporative water loss” of a record-yielding crop in Virginia, which isn’t a big producer of corn, compared with lower-yielding fields in the Midwest, the primary growing region. They found the rate of water used by evapotranspriation was the same, signaling the Virginia crop was more efficient and that there is reason for optimism that corn yields can continue to rise.
